JAY MORE

A native of Deloraine, defenseman Jayson More played with Notre Dame Hounds and started his junior career in the WHL with the Lethbridge Broncos. He also played with the Brandon Wheat Kings and New Westminster Bruins where he was an WHL all-star in 1988. He was drafted in the first round and 10th overall by the New York Rangers in 1987. After spending two seasons in the IHL and one in the AHL, he found a NHL home in San Jose where he played five seasons with the Sharks. His NHL odyssey that totalled 406 games took him to the Rangers twice, Minnesota, Phoenix, Chicago and Nashville. He had 18 goals and 72 points and was often used as a penalty killing blueliner. After joining Nashville in 1998 as a free agent, he suffered a concussion in December of that year. His playing career ended at age 28.
